As an Atlanta native Amanda was surrounded by ultimate most of her life. She grew up learning to throw discs in the backyard and on the beach but wasn’t taught proper form until one fateful spring in 2011. Jumping in to a pickup game that summer Amanda started getting the Ultimate bug. She began playing with the Atlanta Flying Disc Club (AFDC) leagues in the fall of 2011 and instantly fell in love with the game, community and spirit of Ultimate.
Amanda was introduced to Ultimate Peace through the Atlanta community and has been proud to support Atlanta coaches for the passed summers. During a trip around the world in 2014 Amanda was fortunate enough to be a part of UP while visiting the Middle East and was hooked. Amanda brings with her an extensive background in youth work, camp organizing and facilitation. She worked as a facilitator with Outward Bound Mid-Atlantic for five seasons, a camp leader for as many summers and is currently working towards a Masters in Conflict Management at Kennesaw State University. She is eager to be a part of the summer staff and excited to help make this summer’s UP camp the best yet.
