Danny has been around Ultimate as a player and a coach for nearly a decade. He graduated from UC Santa Cruz in 2008 where he played five eventful years of College ultimate. Danny has also played on several elite club ultimate teams, such as Bay Area Revolver, the Santa Barbara Condors, Seattle’s Emerald City Ultimate and presently with Sockeye.
Danny has coached ultimate at many levels locally and internationally, traveling to Israel to teach Ultimate in 2005, where he helped in the inception of Ultimate Peace. Going back to coach in 2009, Danny was on Team Ultimate Peace leading the summer camps. After returning to the US, Danny hit the road again — this time to Medellin, Colombia to teach clinics and coaching workshops as well as coach Seattle Riot (in his second year with the team), one of Seattle’s elite women’s club teams, to a championship at the international tournament: Tourneo Eternal Primavera. He is presently in his second year coaching the University of Washington women’s team, Element.
“I love playing ultimate because it is different and because its differences make it a worthy endeavor filled with self-accountability and a direct focus upon sportsmanship. Ultimate is a game that teaches people to enjoy the game through tenants that also build strong character and quality individuals off the field.”
